What are the advantages of TOPO roof tents?

Where can I stay overnight and what legislation is associated with?
>  First of all, it is important to mention that we don't advise wild camping and we call for compliance with the law of each municipality. We suggest TOPO SPOTS & PROGRAMS, spaces that are cool and prepared to receive our customers (an alternative to the conventional campsite), and even in these we always appeal the respect for nature. In these TOPO SPOTS you can fall asleep watching the stars from the roof window, wake up on the front of a river, beach or mountain.
>  As for the legislation, the “camping/overnight/bivaque” clauses differ from municipality to municipality and should ever be a point to considered.
What is the gift card?
>  The gift card is an exclusive discount voucher for payments on the Topotents.pt website. It's a practical way to be able to offer a fantastic experience to a friend or family member. A original gift that can be used within its validity
How can i get the gift card?
>  The gift card can be purchased at the online store , as if it was another product. The face value of each card corresponds to the maximum amount each user would have to pay for the advertised experience (ex: 1 night 2Pax = €30);
Can I change the tent model or number of nights on the gift card?
>  The gift card corresponds to a specific value (ex: 2Pax1Night = €30.00). This amount can be used for any purchase or reservation on our website. For example, if you received a 2Pax1Night gift card, worth €30.00, and you want to make a 3Pax reservation for 3 nights (€96.00), you can use the balance on your gift card by entering the code at the end of the booking – in this case your booking would be €66.00
How the gift card works?
>  Once you have purchased the gift card, we will contact you to find out who the gift card is for and on what date you would like us to send it. Imagine you want to surprise your boyfriend/girlfriend on birthday – we send you a congratulations email along with the gift card on the day you tell us
Can I buy a tent?
>  Yes, it's possible to purchase a TOPO tent at our online store, or by visiting one of our TOPO WORKSHOPS.
When buying a tent, how does the warranty works?
>  TOPO guarantees the quality of its products. In case of defect, the customer must immediately return the product to the TOPO workshop where it was purchased. The product will be examined and repaired or replaced. Attention: Any change to the product will result in loss of warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or natural wear and tear, for example: fabric burnt by the sun, washing errors, etc. It is necessary to present the purchase receipt for the purchased product.
In addition to the warranty period (2 years), TOPO will provide its products with Permanent Assistance with the aim of prolonging their life, without repair costs for the consumer in the event of a manufacturing defect. (except shipping costs from the consumer to TOPO and from TOPO to the consumer). Permanent Assistance is mainly aimed at problems with seams, fasteners, sliders, eyelets and buckles. It does not affect crooked tent rods, tears or damage to the inner protective layer of fabrics, waterproofing losses, as well as any anomaly caused by misuse or natural wear of the product.
What payment methods are available for the TOPO service?
>  The following payment methods are available: ATM (via payment reference), bank transfer (IBAN: PT50 0018 000346310884020 42), MB WAY and PAYPAL (VISA and MASTERCARD). Our payment system is provided by a trusted partner.
Which destinations do you recommend?
>  We have customers who use the TOPO service throughout the year on a regular basis, during the week or weekend, to various destinations in Portugal, such as Costa Vicentina, Serra do Gerês, Alqueva, Serra de Sintra, Arrábida , just to name a few. Others go on expeditions to Morocco, the Sierra Nevada (Spain), Hossegor (France), among other adventures. Staying in private or public areas is up to you. The sky is the limit, but we suggest that you be responsible, comply with the law and respect nature above all. Are there pre-defined destination/trip programs?
>  There are hundreds of places where you can overnight with your TOPO, but if you want to add some complementary details to your adventure, we inform you that there are numerous places prepared to receive you with additional comforts. Is it possible to rent the CAR + TENT set?
>  Yes, TOPO has a partnership with rent-a-car HERTZ, which offers the rental of a JEEP with a TOPO tent on top! to book this pack, click aqui.
When renting, is it allowed to place pets in the tents?
>  Yes, we have specific tents for rent for those who want to bring pets. Remember that you will have to deliver the tent completely clean!
Do my roof crossbars work with your tents?
>  Yes, any brand will do as long as they are in good condition, well fixed and with a distance between them (distance between the axles) of 70 to 80 cm. Regarding the load capacity of your bars, the general rule is to make sure that your roof bars have a dynamic weight capacity equal to or greater than the weight of the tent. This is the weight the bars can physically carry while the vehicle is in motion.
When the TOPO tent is open and in use (stationary vehicle), the weight of the tent added to the weight of its occupants is distributed not only by the vehicle structure (through the crossbars) but also by the tent's telescopic ladder. This is called static weight capacity. In fact this capability is far superior, as the vehicle structure needs to be strong enough to protect the occupants in the event of an accident or rollover.
How do I set up (open) and take down (close) the tent when I reach my destination?
>  When you reach your destination with the TOPO tent, the assembly and disassembly method is very simple. When booking a tent, instructions for assembly and disassembly are given. Also when installing the tent in your car, our installer will be able to provide clarifications and provide additional training. We also have opening and closing instructions on YOUTUBE!
In Portugal, is the tent suitable for all seasons of the year? Can it withstand wind and rain?
>  In Portugal's climate, more blanket less blanket, all year round will do. The tents are prepared to withstand wind and rain.
TOPO tents are prepared for winds up to 80Km/h however we only recommend using them up to 50Km/h (Force 6), always with the ladder oriented to leeward (the side where the wind runs) even in smaller conditions intensity.
Is there lighting inside the tent?
>  The TOPO rental service offers the possibility of renting a flashlight.
Can you smoke inside the tents?
>  No. It isn't allowed to smoke inside the tents for reasons of hygiene and safety.
Does the prices shown include VAT?
>  Yes, all prices presented by TOPO include VAT at the legal rate in force.
When I make a reservation is an invoice sent?
>  Yes, automatically, by email, after payment confirmation.
How many people can fit in a tent?
>  TOPO offers 2PAX tents (2 adults or 1 adult and 2 children), 3PAX tents (3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children) and 3PAX PLUS tents (3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children), as desired.
Can I book a tent just for one night?
>  Yes, you can book for one night only..
The tents have a security lock?
>  Just like a conventional camping tent, our Rooftop Tents allow the placement of a padlock to ensure some security when the tents are set up..
Does the tents have a shower kit?
>  The TOPO rental service offers the possibility of renting portable showers.
What are the locations provided by TOPO for the installation and removal of tents?

So that I can control the Risk of damage to the tent, there is the possibility of having insurance?
>  Yes, it is possible to purchase our Damage Coverage Product. This product is optional and aims to mitigate the risk of self-damage occurring during the use of the tent and its accessories. By adhering to this Damage Coverage Product, the mandatory deposit defined in the contract is no longer €150.00 and becomes €50.00, remaining captive during the rental period,

Is there any type of penalty that may condition the full return of the security?
>  Yes, at the time of check-in (installation of the tent), the check-in form is delivered and signed, where indemnities and penalties are described. As an example, if you deliver your tent dirty, an additional cleaning fee of €20.00+VAT will be charged. If you lose one of the metal rods, there will be a penalty of €10.00+VAT per rod.
May I cancel my reservation? Are there any costs associated with canceling?
>  Yes, you can cancel your reservation. Yes, you will have some additional costs, namely:

>  25% of the amount paid if cancelled more than 30 days before the day of installation;
>  50% of the amount paid if canceled 10 to 29 days before the day of installation;
>  75% of the amount paid if canceled less than 9 days from the day of installation;
How the TOPO tents are cleaned?
>  Our sanitizing seal certifies a strict disinfection and cleaning procedure. This procedure provides for aspiration, washing and disinfection, aromatization and ventilation of each tent after check-out. A Bedding Kit including a washed sheet will be provided upon check-in. During the days of use, it is up to the customer to keep the tent clean.

TOPO is also monitoring the development of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, acting in accordance with the recommendations issued by the World Health Organization and the public entities responsible for health. In this framework and during this period of global pandemic, we have defined hygiene measures and service measures to comply with the guidelines of those entities, in order to safeguard our customers, TOPO employees and ensure the continuity of the business, namely:

>  Strengthening of cleaning and cleaning measures of tents;
>  Implementation of mandatory tent "quarantine time" (minimum 5 days) between rentals.
>  Customer temperature measurement during installation (If temperature is equal to or greater than 37°C, immediately booking is cancelled)
>  Mandatory use of mask by TOPO employees.
We understand that we should all be part of the solution, and we believe that the more rigorous we have been in implementing the measures, the faster we can move on to TOPO adventures, with total comfort and safety!
It is allowed to cook inside the tents?
>  No. Inside the tents it is forbidden to cook for safety reasons.

Are the TOPO tents waterproof? If so, what degree of waterproofing?
Yes, THE TOP tents are waterproof. To identify the degree of waterproofing, the tents were properly tested in a certified laboratory, according to ISO 811:2018 (Resistance to water penetration).

According to the waterproofing index applied to camping tents (you can find the values below) the results were as follows:
     When closed, the three layers of fabric combined (Canopi + raincoat + Travel cover) have an average value of <2000 mm H2O, which means that the tent offers a degree of waterproofing higher than Level 4 - Optimal resistance to rain and storms for several days.
     When opened, the two layers of fabric combined (Canopi + Raincoat) have an average value of 1300 mm H2O, meaning it offers a degree of waterproofing of Level 3 - Good resistance for normal and constant rains.

The scale considered for calculating the Waterproofing Index for camping tents, considers the following :
     Grade 1 - Less than 600 mm: Not recommended for use in rain.
     Grade 2 - 600 to 1000 mm: Good resistance to weak and occasional rains.
     Grade 3 - 1000 to 2000 mm: Optimum resistance to normal and constant rainfall.
     Grade 4 - 2000 to 3000 mm: Optimal resistance to rain and storms for several days
     Grade 5 - More than 3000 mm: Recommended for extreme weather conditions.
